A visiting pastor once quipped, "Did God just fly
over your church and dump talent on you guys?" He must have, for we have
been wonderfully blessed. Our Calvary Chapel Worship Team members
are, in a sense, door-keepers of the throne room of God: through
worship in song they help usher God's people into His presence by
holding open the doors and standing back, giving the people an
unobstructed view of their Lord. Moreover, when the congregation gathers
in fellowship, many bring with them their burdens, cares and worries.
As our attention is directed at the Lord Jesus through worship, His
people become the choir and He becomes the audience. Together, gazing
upon Him in all His majesty and grace through inspiring music, He
unburdens our hearts. How true are the old words, "the chief end of man
is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever." This is what worship is all
