We Equip Chaplains

Why Chaplaincy?

SUDDEN EXTREME CRISIS: Most ministers are not equipped or trained to handle traumatic events such as sudden deaths, suicides, murders, mass casualty incidents, school tragedies and the like. In fact, most Bible colleges, seminaries and Christian universities offer few, if any, courses or fields of study in the area of ministering to traumatized people. That is why there are Chaplains.
Chaplains are the ministers who take care of the team, and Law Enforcement Chaplains minister to the law enforcement personnel who protect and serve our communities. But Chaplains also serve the community, and Community Chaplains minister to traumatized people who have lost loved ones to sudden and tragic situations. This is why we at Calvary Chapel support Chaplaincy Ministry. Our Associate Pastor Jim Milne serves full time as Deputy Senior Chaplain of Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy, and Pastor Jay McCarl has served for more than twenty years as a volunteer Law Enforcement Chaplain, also with PCLEC.

Thus, we offer this unique page to equip and assist Chaplains and Chaplaincy efforts worldwide. Below, you will find many down-loadable resources designed to establish, train, and equip Chaplaincy ministries and individual Chaplains. Among the excellent resources below, we are pleased to make available the Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Training Manual. This renowned manual has been designed to establish new Chaplaincy ministries and train Law Enforcement Chaplains from
the ground up. It has been extensively used in Chaplaincy efforts nationwide and in international venues such as South
Africa, the Dominican Republic, Kenya, and New Zealand. Other resources include the "Chaplain's Quick Reference Book" and various tools created to assist Chaplains as they minister in the field.

Please note: The Chaplaincy Training Manual is not for certification with International Conference of Police Chaplains. If you would like more information concerning ICPC membership or certification, please click here to visit their website.
