Pastor Jay McCarl
Originally schooled as an artist, Jay has served in ministry as Beach Area Director for Orange County Youth for Christ, worship leader for various ministries at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, and as an assistant pastor at churches in Orange, Napa, San Diego, and Auburn. In 1990 Jay pioneered a work in Cool, California, that became Calvary Chapel Georgetown Divide. Since that time, he has also founded Biblical Dinners Ministries, presenting internationally a colorful interactive recreation of the historical Last Supper and of a Galilean Wedding. Jay also leads study tours of Israel, Greece and Turkey, and is regularly involved in short-term missions. Jay has a Master's degree in Chaplaincy Ministry and is a volunteer supervising Chaplain with Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy. He has been married to his beautiful wife Kathee for more than thirty years and has four amazing children. To read more about Pastor Jay, click here to visit his personal blog. Associate Pastor Dan Cordova As a pastor at Calvary Chapel of the Georgetown Divide, Dan Cordova has become well acquainted with the excessive Grace of God. He was brought to Jesus by his mother at the age of four, and has had since encountered the boundless forgiveness and love of God in Christ time after time. He spent many pre-college years working at Forward Bible Conferences where he found that sharing the goodness of God is as sweet an experience as receiving it. The desire to share lingered through his years at Pensacola Christian College where he pursued a major in art. This time was spent under the guidance of a Godly teaching staff devoted to glorifying God above all else. After college Dan pursued a career in Graphic Design where he found opportunities to work for Christian artists such as the Johnson family and Australia's, Steve Grace. Dan soon found, however, that a career in Graphic Design was not going to satisfy, and in 2007 was given the opportunity to serve as a youth minister at Calvary Chapel. Dan is now serving the youth as a teacher where he hopes to inspire an understanding and a love for God's Word through the working of the Holy Spirit. Associate Pastor & Chaplain Jim Milne Jim is both an assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel on the Georgetown Divide and the Deputy Senior Chaplain for Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy (where he has served for more than thirteen years). Jim has served in many ministries in his thirty years as a Christian, including a prison ministry, suicide/runaway hotline, missions and youth programs, Sunday school teacher and administrator, deacon, elder, men’s ministries leader, ski chaplain, and more. Jim grew up with his father’s ‘god’ of choice—alcohol. His dad sacrificed everything to that god: family, jobs, food and the ultimately himself.Life was poor, lawless, and at times violent as the result of alcohol and drugs. But (praise God!) Jesus is Lord! Now God has used his past to transform Jim into a better husband, dad, pastor and chaplain. If you would like to hear more of Jim’s testimony, just ask. Jim has been married to his wife DeeAnn for more than 30 blessed years. He and DeeAnn committed their lives to Jesus Christ in 1977, high in the Colorado Rockies in town called Silverton, and began their walk with the Lord in Loveland. They have two wonderful children, Jeremy and Sara, and a great son-in-law, Rico (Sara and Rico reside in New York, and Jeremy in El Segundo, CA). Jim enjoys all types of outdoor activities, where he appreciates and admires God’s creation.
Church Bookkeeper, Jane Barnhart Jane was born in Denver, Colorado, and has lived in the Georgetown Divide/Lotus area since 1969. A Christian since her early twenties, she eventually came to the realization of what it meant for Jesus Christ to be not only her Savior, but her Lord, and in 2002 she fully dedicated her life to His service. In 1990 she married her strapping husband Jeff and moved to Garden Valley, where they share a small ranch with four goats and five furry felines. Her son Joseph was born in 1998, and no mom could be more proud or more delighted. Jane has been serving as our bookkeeper at Calvary Chapel for over a year now and has served in various ministries here at Calvary Chapel for about eight years. Judy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, grew up in a Christian home, and received Christ at the age of five. Judy came to California at the age of nineteen, where three months later she met her husband Brit. Brit and Judy were married in 1964 and have three children, Tanya, David and Michael, and six grandchildren, Alex, Brittany Jillian, Kaitlyn, Joshua, and Brandon. Judy’s great desire has always been to serve the Body of Christ administratively, and over the years has served various churches according to her gift. In 2000, after working for several years in a secular field, God opened the door for her to serve as bookkeeper at Calvary Chapel San Jose. More recently, Judy and Brit retired and sold their San Jose home, and in 2005 they moved to Cool. God is stretching Judy in her ministry, leading her to Northern Ireland in 2006 for her first mission trip, and in 2008 to Kenya, where she ministered to African pastor’s wives. Elders and Deacons
